Times they are a Changin’

July 17, 2009 by cgrau · Leave a Comment

There’s a lot of changes at The Salvation Army. The Fitzgeralds just concluded their first year as officers in Bloomington. Our landscaping has gotten a boost thanks to Nature’s Way.

In fact, even our newsletter has changed. Since we’re updating news so frequently here on our website, we reduced the frequency of our newsletter to a quarterly publication.

It’s content offers much more of an overview to the ministry and events of the Bloomington Corps. We’ve done that by including many more photographs and reduced the amount of text so that in a brief sitting our readers can get a pretty good understanding of the impact we are having on the person: body and soul.

Lastly, we’ve included our newsletters online, so that our readers can stay up to date in a more environmentally friendly way.

But know that through all these changes, the same Salvation Army exists that day in and day out provides services for our neighbors in need.

It’s too Early, but It’s That Time Again

July 10, 2009 by cgrau · Leave a Comment

In a little more than a month from this post MCCSC and RBB kids will be going back to school! Hard to believe that the summer is almost over!

But for  a lot of area families, this is a time of stress, because they want their children to go back to school with everything on the list, but they just can’t afford it.

That’s why The Salvation Army has partnered with those school corporations and numerous churches to provide the very best back to school items for the those children who couldn’t learn without it!

How can I help?

Glad you asked! You can drop off your donated back to school items at any of our partner sites or at The Salvation Army. In fact, we’ve provided a list for you, so all you have to do is go to our website and head to your favorite toy supply store.

Then, the children and their parents will arrive at The Salvation Army on August 04 to pick out their supplies so they can be excited for school too!

Any questions can be addressed to the ever-helpful Monica Clemons at 336-4310.
