Volunteer Button When families struggle to put food on the table and keep the heat going, the cost of a decent winter coat becomes unfeasible. That’s where you come in. Please consider becoming a “Shield Against the Cold” and buy a new coat for a child or adult in need. You can also go to your closet and donate the coats that haven’t been worn in years. The Salvation Army will then distribute the new and gently used coats, hats, mittens and boots of all sizes to area families in need. During the past few months coats were donated at the below locations in Monroe County. Spirit 95 Radio hosted several live broadcast throughout the month of October. The result was 501 coats were collected along with over 150 hats, scarfs, mittens, sweaters and boots. These items were given to families through out October and November.
