We need your help – 400+ Angels need adopted
(Columbus, IN, November 19, 2011) The Columbus Salvation Army is kicking off its Angel Tree Christmas Program, Monday, November 21, 2011. This year you can find Angel Tree tags at the following locations: Fair Oaks Mall, both Wal-Marts, Sears, Vanity Fair Outlet, and Total Fitness. “We again are excited that the locations are participating in our Angel Tree program this year, we are also excited that individuals can go to the JCPenny web page and adopt an angel right here in Bartholomew County as well. As of November 18, 2011 there are 437 kids that without the communities support might not have Christmas. Many of the families that signed up for our program this year are new to asking for assistance. One mom said, “My family is usually one who gets and Angel and buys for them, but with lay-offs I just can’t do it this year.” It is individuals like that , that makes me proud of being a Salvation Army Officer and doing the most good to help others within our community.” said Lt. Jodi Sladek.
The Salvation Army does ask that you do not wrap the gifts, if you wish you may donate wrapping paper. The gifts may be returned to the location where you pick up your tag or you may return the items to The Salvation Army located at 2525 Illinois Ave, (Corner of Gladstone and Illinois). This year at Fair Oaks Mall, we ask that instead of returning the gifts to The Salvation Army. “We would like to Thank the community for their help in helping us meet the needs!”
