My name is Lauren and I am currently a sophomore at Purdue University studying Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. My aspiration is to become an outstanding elementary school teacher to underprivileged youth in an urban setting.  A community is only as strong as its leaders, and I feel blessed to have been apart of a community that felt more like an extended family than a town or city. I believe that it is important to be a role-model for the youth of a community, because one never knows whom they may inspire next.
