NICU Assistance Program

nicu
Baby Charlotte in the NICU

Charlotte Ministries is a NICU Assistance program, inspired by a staff member’s struggle with having a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Evaluated on a case-by-case basis, The Salvation Army provides care packages as well as financial assistance for families with a child currently in an Allen County NICU (and in special cases, children with cancer or other medical issues.) Assistance is provided upon demonstration of need and based upon donations received.

For more information, please contact Jama Smith at jama_smith@usc.salvationarmy.org or 260-744-2311.

CURRENT CASE #1: STELLA

stella

“A couple of months ago, my husband Kyle and I heard the most devastating news we had ever received up to that point in our lives. Our daughter would be born with a severe bi-lateral congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a hole on either side of the diaphragm that allows other organs into the chest cavity and stops the lungs from developing the way they should. With the information they had from numerous very expensive and advanced tests, doctors at Riley Childrens Hospital gave her a less than 10% chance of survival and were in disbelief that she had survived in utero to that point….” See the rest of Stella’s story at http://www.gofundme.com/cdhbabystella

You can help Stella by donating the following:
0-3 Clothing
Blankets/Bedding
Socks, Baby Mittens
Diapers and Wipes
Gas Cards
Grocery Cards

Stella has a big sister, size 7/8 who loves Mermaids and Disney Princesses.
.

The Allen County Salvation Army will be accepting donations for Stella until SEPTEMBER 28, 2015.
