Thank you for your support of Tools for Schools program.

September 3, 2009 by ndelavergne

The Salvation Army would like to thank the many individuals, groups, and businesses who contributed to our Tools for Schools program this year.  We were able to provide 700 students from families in need with new school supplies for the first day of class.  In addition, over 1100 pieces of new and gently used clothing were distributed to those who attended the Saturday event.  We would especially like to thank the 98 volunteers who helped us set up and distribute the supplies. Volunteer groups who helped include Lilly Finance Group, Kohl’s Cares for Kids program, St. Paul Community Church, Retired Teachers, First Christian Church, First Nazarene Church, Lafayette Gideons, Word of Life Fellowship, The Salvation Army Advisory Board and Church, and Smiles Unlimited.  A special thanks to volunteer Jane Kovach who organized the school lists and made assembly so efficient. We appreciate the kindness and generosity of the donors and volunteers who made this event possible.
