The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Service Team is offering a free Easter egg hunt for children in Jefferson and surrounding counties. The event will include a brief Easter devotional followed by a time of fun and excitement as children hunt for Easter Eggs.
“Easter is a time of celebration for what Jesus Christ has done for the salvation of others,” said Lt. Emily Phelps, Corps Officer at The Salvation Army. “This event is a way to allow children of our community, especially those who may not have very much, to participate in this celebration.”
Families who would like to participate should come to the City Garage in Madison, on Saturday, April 23rd, at 10:00. Families are asked to bring an Easter basket or sack for each child participating in the event. Children should be 12 years of age or younger in order to participate.
Those looking to attend Easter services are also invited to The Salvation Army at 10:45 AM, April 24th (Easter Sunday), for worship. An Easter Breakfast will also be served at 9:00 AM for those attending the worship service afterward.
