The Salvation Army of Jefferson County will begin taking applications for their Angel Tree assistance program on October 19th through October 21st. Every year the Angel Tree program provides food, clothing, and toys for families in need. Individuals may sign up for this Christmas assistance program at The Salvation Army located at 331 E Main St. from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m or until all appointments are filled.
“Christmas should be a time of anticipation and joy, especially for children,” said Lt. Matthew Phelps, Corps Officer at The Salvation Army. “But for many of the parents in our community Christmas season sometimes serves as a sad reminder of the fact that they are struggling to meet the basic needs of their families. We at The Salvation Army hope to make Christmas brighter for many children and needy families within our community.”
Applicants will need to bring a photo ID, proof of address (current Jefferson County ID works for both), household income verification, and birth certificates or social security cards for each member of the of the family.
