Within the home, there is no better meeting place than the kitchen table. This is where families sit, talk, laugh, learn, and grow stronger together. We see the Lord’s kitchen serving as that same meeting place. We love to see people from all walks of life sitting down and sharing a meal together, learning, growing, loving as a community together. The Salvation Army is honored to be Jefferson county’s only feeding program. In 2015, we severed over 20,000 meals.
The Lord’s Kitchen:
The Lord’s Kitchen serves as the only continual feeding program in Jefferson county. providing over 3,000 meals in the month of July alone, These Free and healthy meals are provided Monday through Friday, in our kitchen, at the following times:
- Breakfast: 9:00 – 10:00 AM
- Lunch: Noon – 1:00 PM
The Salvation Army also works with the Madison End of the Month Meal to provide meals to shut-ins and those who come to The Salvation Army on the last Saturday of every month. The Lord’s kitchen is generally open from 11:00 until Noon for these meals.
Recently the kitchen saw an update in its paint job. This will allow for better cleaning of the facilities and creates a welcoming environment for those who benefit from our program. We were grateful for the time volunteers took to make this dream come true. We are always looking for volunteers to offer their time in a number of different ways!
