January 21, 2013 by skiger
Volunteers Rebuilding Our Community (V-ROC) Sunday, January 13, 2013 celebrated the dedication of its 10th complete re-build in our area by the faith based group. They have also completed 250 homes that have required various levels of repair.
A total of 120,614 volunteer hours have been recorded representing 9,718 volunteers. That represents an in-kind value to the recovery efforts of $2,422,836.
The recovery effort is directed by the four major partners in V-ROC: Hope Crisis Response Network, The Salvation Army, United Methodist Committee on Relief and Country Lake Retreat in Henryville.
“We are so thankful to God for His hand in bringing together so many people to touch the lives of those affected by the tornado of March 2, 2012,” said Kevin Cox, director of Hope Crisis Response Network.
It is anticipated that two more complete rebuilds will be dedicated by the end of February 2013.
