During World War I the “Salvation Army Lassies” went to the front lines and served the Allied forces donuts as well as helping them mend their uniforms and write letters home. Their spirit of service is a model to all of selfless dedication to those in need.
In the spirit of that service the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary takes one day in May to thank your Veterans for their service. It is also a day to thank individuals, volunteers, businesses, churches and organizations who support The Salvation Army throughout the year.
Auxiliary members deliver donuts around the community on that day to just say “thanks”
